The Pool area is steeped in history and has a wonderful visual legacy of its past industrial life.
I worked with lighting experts and technicians to create the lightwork, which moves across the Robinson’s Shaft minehead chimney and engine house. Two counter rotating, glass gobo wheels contain hand printed images which are projected over the old buildings bringing them back to life. The effect is that of a moving, changing and interacting print, twenty metres in diameter; a celebration of mining, a memorial to past miners, and a beacon for the future.
