The Glass Entrance
Wellspring Healthy Living Centre Size - 25 sq m. Commissioned by Community at Heart. Architects - Quattro Design. Fabrication - Anne Smyth. The artist’s brief for this project was to work with the architects and local people to create a welcoming, stimulating and enjoyable place for people to be; to make a space unique to Barton Hill, with a ‘wow factor’ as you walked through the door.

My aim was to bring the rhythms of nature and growth into the inner city environment. This was achieved, after a series of lively workshops with the Healthy Living Group, by basing designs upon fruit and vegetables, to express health, ripeness and energy.
I made the glass in my own studio, hand colouring and casting each individual piece.
